Filter your public repository for open issues labeled question or help wanted that have gone unanswered for more than two days. Assign one engineer per week to close that queue, either with a direct answer, a link to the relevant doc, or a clear timeline if it needs a fix.

Why it works: An abandoned issue thread signals a dead project to anyone evaluating the repository, regardless of how active development actually is.
